Description
’The Bruce’ was established in the late 18th century to provide refreshment to those travelling by coach and horses through Wensleydale, ‘over the top’ to Kendal in the Lake District.
The stage coaches may be long gone but the building retains much of the feel of that bygone era with cosy log fires in the winter and the chance to dine in the stable yard in summer.
The private dining room is a stunning choice for family celebrations up to 30 guests, shoot parties, mini conferences etc. With the 3 comfortable rooms here and the 5 rooms over at The Bull Inn, our sister establishment in the village, we are able to accommodate approximately 18 people and to offer a real country house party atmosphere.
Our food is second to none with our chefs cooking everything from scratch and making the best of the quality local produce.
The Bruce and Bull are essentially a family affair where you’re guaranteed friendly service in a relaxed atmosphere.
