Ingleton has a rich and diverse history including mining, railways and textiles, to connections with authors such as Sir Arthur Conan Doyle and Michael Moorcock.

Three Peaks Challenge

You can make Ingleton your base to take on the 3 peaks.

Starting from Ingleton makes the route slightly longer (29.6 miles) and higher than if you start/end at Horton in Ribblesdale, so if you think that you’ve already ‘done the challenge’, why not take on the Ingleton circuit as your next challenge?

If you are preparing for another challenge event, you can hike up Ingleborough or Whernside directly from Ingleton (the start or end section of the route) and the town offers other walks to help with your training too.

Where Next?

Near to Ingleton, you will discover Hawes following a delightful drive over the top of open moorland, or to the East along the scenic A65, you’ll come across the brighter lights of Skipton.
